We have several scholarship opportunities available to LGBTQ+ students of color including the Sean Myers Leadership Scholarship, created in memoriam of Sean William Myers-Wright, an avid dancer and student government leader.

Sean Myers Leadership Scholarship


To honor his love for music and academic excellence, Sean’s Legacy has created the Sean Myers Leadership Scholarship to support one or more outstanding students accepted or enrolled into two or four-year colleges or universities. Scholarships are available to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer plus students. Preference is given to students of color (Black/African American, Latinx), Asian/Pacific Islander, Native American) who are (or have been) in foster care, homeless, and/or undocumented students (system involved youth applicants are also welcome).

Students must submit an application package including:

1) A completed google form and the following emailed to support@seanslegacy.org:

2) A short paragraph explaining past leadership experience, involvement activities, and future goals

3) Resume detailing school and community service/work related accomplishments (if any) AND

4) 400-800 word essay addressing the prompt: “How do you respond to negative conversations surrounding suicide?”
