Join Sean’s Legacy - Students and New Graduates

Our Internship Program

Sean’s Legacy has a robust internship program available to undergraduate students, graduate students, and new graduates. Intern positions last a minimum of six months, however many interns choose to stay longer than their school requirements. Sean’s Legacy is happy to work with colleges and universities in establishing for-credit internships or site practicums. All internships are conducted remotely and are extremely collaborative with students across the program.

Please note: All opportunities are unpaid unless otherwise noted.

We are pleased to offer internships to undergraduate and graduate students in the areas of public health, sociology, psychology, and education. We encourage students with specific research interests in mental health and suicide prevention in youth to submit their resumes and cover letters for consideration to support@seanslegacy.org with their name and major in the subject line. Cover letters should be addressed to Larissa Kmetz, Director of Research.

Sean’s Legacy is proud to have hosted students students from the following colleges/universities in providing internships or masters-level public health practicums*:

  • Arcadia University (2020)

  • Brown University* (2020-2021)

“My experience interning at Sean's Legacy has been nothing less than great. While we work as a team on most projects, we are also given a lot of creative control on independent projects, and we are encouraged to bring in topics that are meaningful to each of us. I feel like each of our voices and experiences are able to shine through our work.”

- Helena Habtemariam, Brown University

“My time at Sean’s Legacy has given me a chance to take the knowledge and skills I have learned during my education and put it into practice in a real setting. Overall it has been a wonderful balance of individual work and collaborative efforts in the mission to end suicide and support LGBTQ+ youth. If you are even a little bit interested or passionate about that, reach out to the team at Sean’s Legacy and see how you can get involved. “

- Lucy Dollinger, The George Washington University
